I wonder why #Tesla is so obsessed with making everything sedan-shaped. Their crossovers look just like slightly lifted sedans to the average person, and their "Cyber truck" looks like an angular Ford Ranchero.

I feel like there's going to be an electric car conversion marketplace (in contrast to the bespoke conversions that have been done for decades) once gasoline becomes too expensive for most people. If it's cheaper to convert (or pay someone to convert) than buy a new car, it will entice some people. The benefits of not having to manufacture an entire new body and frame would also suit some people's sensibilities.

I still think rim brakes work well enough for paved road #cycling . They haven't given me any major trouble in the wet, either. #bicycle

I don't like overdriven/distorted electric guitar very much.

Maybe I should get a compact pickup #truck as my first stick shift #car. It'd be very useful for cargo carrying (motorcycle, bicycle, etc. stuff), and passenger capacity wouldn't matter since it we already have a car for that.

One nice thing about manual transmissions relative to automatic is that you have more control over what the engine and transmission do. You don't need to "convince" a (computer/electronic/hydraulic/mechanical) program to do what you want. 👍

Also seems like a huge part of the limited capabilities of today's "AI" models has to do with the incorrect input and output data. For example, no "AI" that doesn't meaningfully take a significant chunk of the parts of societal context is never going to even seem human to the most discerning person.

At some level, all forms of creativity are a form of fuzzy pattern matching, but the amount of input and output data are far beyond what most computers today can process as quickly.
